Jason McCran

After studying at OAC Jason established the business in 1991, having initially concentrated on domestic garden maintenance and building up a considerable client base the business naturally evolved into commercial grounds maintenance and landscaping. Jason continues to lead the team from the front and has a wide ranging role within the business, from carrying out site visits to inspect the quality of the work carried out by his teams to meeting new clients and submitting tenders. He also ensures Health, Safety & Welfare and good working practices are maintained. Jason has local knowledge and experience built up over a 33 year period, carrying out maintenance and landscaping within Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, always happy to advise existing clients and new clients alike he has established excellent links within the horticultural industry.

David Paterson

Whilst carrying out an apprentiship with East Lothian Council in the early 1990’s David attended Oatridge College block release and then studied full time attaining a Certificate in Landscape Construction with Merit and progressing to attain the Advanced Certificate in Landscape Contract Management. David was also a contestant in the semi-final of the Young Horticulturist of the Year Competition in 1993. David has been with Jason for nearly 30 years, he has designed and built award winning gardens at Gardening Scotland. As our Landscape Manager David oversees the day to day running of Civic Trees, our specialist soft landscaping division, with a passion for quality you can be rest assured that the work is completed to the best standards possible. David’s in depth construction knowledge has resulted in garden designers consulting David during the design stage and construction phases on best solutions.

James Dawson

As head Maintenance Supervisor, James is on the road all day every day, carrying our site inspections either prior to teams arriving or inspecting the quality of work after teams have left and liaising with our clients. He has 35 years plus experience of garden maintenance and has been with Jason for 33 years. An excellent problem solver who leads by example and has helped develop the business over the years, James is a stickler for quality who believes that in order for the business to succeed the teams on the ground must be delivering the best maintenance service possible – which others would like to aspire too.

David Cummings

David has been with Jason for over 30 years, developing from being a seasonal gardener to team leader and now as an assistant Maintenance Supervisor helping James day to day to look after the large number of teams that we have on the road. David was a great all round team leader looking after some of our prestigious sites; having been there and done it David knows what it takes to achieve the best of standards and now instills this on the next generation of team leaders, always there to offer advice and guidance and happy to be “hands on” David also builds up good relationships with our clients, as he like James, is seen on site regularly.

Sheila Pringle

Sheila looks after the office, from day to day administration through to accounts. Sheila has been with the business for over 21 years and is a friendly voice at the end of the line. Sheila is based at our rural office / yard south of Penicuik and keeps everything ticking along smoothly.

The Team

A great team of like minded professionals who strive to achieve the highest standards, courteous at all times and a friendly face on site. We support staff development, encouraging seasonal gardeners to aspire to be full time gardeners and gardeners to aspire to be team leaders – and all our team leaders have done it this way, they have risen through the ranks with training and certification along the way and embraced the ethos of the “greenfingers way” of carrying out work.
